Mix 3D with the 2D motion workflow
Add geometry and lights, enter spatial focus, control the camera and return to the final shot.

3D is a Founder beta layered on top of the normal editor. Spatial objects participate in the same project, animation and export model, while a dedicated focus view makes placement practical.
Add spatial content
Open Add 3D and choose Cube, Plane, Sphere, 3D Rectangle, 3D Ellipse, 3D Star or 3D Text. You can also import glTF or GLB meshes.
New primitives are created without rotation at the project center. Ambient, Directional, Point, Spot and Area lights are available from the Lights section of the same menu.
Enter 3D focus
When a project contains spatial content, use its 3D focus control to enter the full-window scene view. The view renders spatial content for uncluttered placement while keeping Layers, Properties and creation tools available.
Orbit with the pointer or Mac trackpad, pan across the scene and dolly to change the editor view. The floating monitor shows the authored camera's complete 2D and 3D project result.
Transform with gizmos
Select an object from any visible screen pixel or from Layers, then choose Move, Rotate or Scale beside Select. Use Global axes for world-aligned edits and Local axes when movement should follow the object's own rotation.
Camera and light helpers stay visible when selected. The toolbar Helpers option keeps all helpers visible when scene setup needs a wider overview. Helpers never enter the monitor or exported shot.
Shape light and shadows
A spot light helper displays its cone, while a point light helper shows the influence volume. Edit position, color, intensity, range and relevant cone controls in Properties.
Realtime shadows are cast by the actual mesh or extruded text silhouette onto 3D receivers such as planes. The 2D project background is not a physical shadow receiver.
Build illuminated text
Place a plane below extruded text, enable text emission and use glow for the visible halo. The emission can light the plane and nearby spatial geometry.
Type On opacity also drives each letter's emission and shadow opacity, allowing a sign to illuminate character by character instead of switching the complete word on at once.
Preview and export responsibly
Realtime rendering is the default for responsive editing and export. Ray traced rendering is an optional export-only path for supported raster and video formats when cleaner lighting is worth the additional time.
3D remains beta. Save before long exports, test a short range first, and increase samples only after camera, light and material choices are final.
